Algebra Expressions
| Term | Definition |

| Algebra expressions | Algebra expressions have at least one variable and one operation |
| Variable | A letter that represents an unknown value (varies); can use any letter |
| Constant | A term without a variable; numbers. |
| Coefficient | A Coefficient is a number part of a term with variables. |
| Term | A term is either a single number or variable, or numbers and variables multiplied together. |
| Like terms | A like term is a term with two or more terms with the same variable or exponent. |
| Sum | The answer to a addition problem |
| Difference | The answer to a subtraction problem |
| prouduct | The answer to a multiplication problem |
| quotient | The answer to a division problem |
| Fewer than/ less than | Subtract and reverse |
| How much more/less | subtraction |
| percent or fraction of | multiply |

| than/from | reverse the order |
| Commutative Property | The order in which numbers are added or multiplied does not change the answer |
| Associative Property | The way in which numbers are grouped when added or multiplied does not change the answer |
| Identity Property of Addition | The sum of an addend and 0 is the same as the addend |
| Identity Property of Multiplication | The product of any factor and 1 is the same as the factor |
| Additive Inverse Property | Adding a number and it's opposite will produce a sum of zero |
| Multiplicative Inverse Property | Multiplying any number and it's Inverse (reciprocal) equals one. |
| Associative Property | (x + 7)+9 = x+(7 + 9) |
| Associative Property | 4(3 x 9) = (4 x 3)9 |
| Commutative Property | (x+7 )+ 9 = 9 +(7 +x) |
