Ethos Emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority
Pathos Appeals to the audience's emotions
Logos Appeals to the audience's logic or reason
Claim The author's main point, a statement he or she believes to be true, must be arguable and provable
Credibility The author is able to be believed and trusted
Evidence Information or data that is trustworthy, accurate, and consistent, and can be verified through reputable sources
Argument When the author wants to convince you of their position.
Rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim
Counterclaim the opposing viewpoints of the authors claim
