Argument and claim

TermDefinition
Ethos Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority.
Pathos Appeals to the audience's emotions. Ex: Personal Story, Powerful Image, or Sad Videos.
Logos Appeals to the audiences logic or reason.
Claim The authors main point, one that he/she believes to be true.
Credibility The author is able to be believed or trusted.
Evidence Information or data that is trustworthy, accurate, and consistent.
Argument When the author wants to convince yo of their position.
Claim The authors main point.
Rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim.
Counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the authors claim.
Relevant Evidence What the author uses to support their claim.
Credible The author is able to be believed or trusted.
