Argument/Claim

TermDefinition
Ethos Emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority. Examples: celebrity endorsements, titles, professions, and personal experience
Pathos Appeals to the audience's emotions. Examples: personal story, powerful image, or sad videos.
Logos Appeals to the audiences logic or reason. Examples: data, historical event, facts, test results, and personal experience.
Claim The author's main point, a statement he or she believed and trusted.
Credibility The author is able to be believed and trusted.
Reliable evidence Information or data that is trustworthy, accurate, and consistent, and can be verified through reputable sources.
Counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the authors claim.
Rebuttal when the authors responds directly to the Counterclaim.
Argument When the authors wants to convince you of their position.
Relevant Evidence What the author uses to support their claim.
