sum sum means addition for example, what is the sum of 2 + 8 is addition.
difference difference means subtraction for example, find the difference in the problem 4 - 6 is subtraction
product product is multiplication example, what I the product for 4 x 2
quotient quotient is division for example, what is the quotient for 9 divided by 8 is division.
