Argument and Claim
| Term | Definition |

| Ethos (credibility) | Emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority. (celeb endorsements , titles, professions, etc.) |
| Pathos (emotion) | Appeals to the audiences emotions. (personal story, powerful image, or sad videos) |
| Logos (reasoning) | Appeals to the audiences logic or reason. (data, historical events, facts, test results and personal experience) |
| Claim | The authors main point, a statement he or she believes to be true, must be arguable and provable |
| Credibility | The author is able to be believed and trusted. (authors credentials, where the article was published, cited and reliable evidence used to support the claim) |
| Argument | When the author wants to convince you of their position |
| Relevant Evidence | What the author uses to support their claim |
| Counterclaim | The opposite viewpoint of the author's claim |
| Rebuttal | When the author responds directly to the counterclaim |
