Argument+Claim Terms
| Question | Answer |

| Ethos | Emphasizes the speaker's credibility and authority. Ex: celebrity endorsements, titles, professions, etc. |
| Pathos | appeals to the audience's emotions. Ex: personal story, powerful image, or sad video |
| Logos | Appeals to the audience's logic or reason. Ex: data, historical events, facts, test results, and personal experience. |
| claim | the author's main point, a statement he or she believes to be true, must be arguable and provable. |
| credibility | the author is able to be believed or trusted. |
| reliable evidence | What the author uses to support their claim. |
| Argument | When the author wants to convince you of their position. |
| Evidence | what the author uses to convince you of their claim. |
| Counterclaim | the opposite viewpoint of the authors claim. |
| Rebuttal | when the author responds directly to the counterclaim. |
