Argument terms

TermDefinition
Ethos Emphasizes the speakers credibility , and authority.
Pathos Appeals to the audiences emotions.
logos Appeals to the audiences logic or reason.
credibility The author is able to be beloved and trusted.
Argument when the author wants to convince you of their position
Claim The authors main point
Evidence what the author uses to support their claim
Counterclaim The opposite viewpoint of the authors claim
Rebuttal When the author responds directly to the counterclaim
