TermDefinition
Ethos Emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority.Celebs, titles, professions, etc
Pathos appeals to peoples emotions, personal stories, powerful image or words, etc
Logos appeals to the audience's logic or reason. Data, events, facts, studies, results, and personal experience
Claim The authors main point and what they are trying to get across to the reader.
Credible The author is able to be believed and trusted
Evidence information or data that is trustworthy accurate, and consistent. Facts, Statistics, and Quotes/ expert opinions.
Argument when the author wants to convince you of their opinion
Counterclaim the opposing viewpoints of the authors claim
Rebuttal when the author responds directly to the counterclaim
