| Term | Definition |

| ethos (credibility) or ethical appeal. | emphasizes the speakers credibility and authority. Examples: celebrity endorsements, titles, professions, ect. |
| Pathos (emotions). | Appeals to the audience's emotions. Examples: personal story, powerful image, or sad videos. |
| Logos (reasoning). | to appeal to the audiences' sense of reason or logic |
| Claim. | the authors main point |
| argument | when the author wants to convince you of their posistion |
| evidence | what he authors uses to support their claim |
| counterclaim | the opposite viewpoint of the authors claim |
| rebuttal | when the author responds directly to the countrclain |
| credibility | the authors is able to be trusted |
