algebra expression has a least one variable and one operation ex: a plus 2
variable a letter that represents an unknown value ex: 7a plus 4
constant a term without a variable; numbers ex: 7a plus 4 and 4 would be the constant
coefficient the number part of a term with variables ex 7a plus 4 and 7 would be the coefficient
term is either a single number or variable, or numbers and variables that multiplier together ex: 4a plus 2y - 3 and 3 2 and 4 would be the term
like terms two or more terms with the same variable or exponent ex: 7x plus 8x plus ten and 7 and 8x would be the like term.
sum the answer to an addition promblem
difference the answer to an subtraction promblem
pruduct the answer to an multiplication promblem
quotient the answer to an division promblem
