QuestionAnswer
What is a neuron? A nerve cell that sends and receives electrical signals.
What does CNS stand for? Central nervous system.
What does the somatic nervous system control? Voluntary muscle movements.
What is a sensory receptor? A structure that detects stimuli (light, sound, touch, etc).
What is a hormone? A chemical messenger that affects organs and tissues.
What are the two major circulations of the body? Pulmonary (lungs) and systemic (body).
What do arteries do? Carry blood away from the heart.
What do lymph nodes do? Filter lymph and trap bacteria/viruses.
What cells make antibodies? B cells.
What muscle helps you breathe in? The diaphragm.
Where does chemical digestion start? Mouth (salivary enzymes).
