Spinocerebellum midline region of the cerebellum know as the vermis, receives proprioceptive input from the spinal cord
Thyroid Gland Large endocrine gland responsible for synthesis of thyroid hormones
Cerebellum Region of the adult brain that is connected to the pons that developed from the metencephalon, responsible for comparing information from the cerebrum with sensory feedback, through the spinal cord
Thymus Organ that helps develop and mature the maturation of T-cells, most active during infancy and childhood. Found between the sternum and aorta of the heart.
Cervical Plexus Nerve plexus associated with the upper cervical spinal cords
Pancreas Both exocrine and endocrine function located posterior to the stomach , helps with digestion and regulating blood glucose.
Antibody Group of proteins that binds to a pathogen-associated molecules
Antigen Chemical structure on the surface of pathogen that binds to a T or B lymphocyte receptors.
Abduct Moves away from midline in the sagittal plane
Teres Minor Long and laterally rotates and extends the arm
Cochlea Part on inner ear, responsible for hearing and balance
Retnia Innermost layer of the eye AKA neural tunic. Contains nervous tissue responsible for photoreception
Cortisol Hormone released from the adrenal gland in response to stress increase blood glucose levels, breaks down fats and proteins
Sertoli Cells support germ cells through the process of spermatogenesis
Poplietal Fossa Diamond shape space at the back of the knee
Thalamus Region of CNS that acts as a relay for sensory pathways.
Pharynx Propels food from the mouth to the esophagus, lubricates food and passageways
Accessory Organs to Digestive System Liver, Gallbladder, Pancreas
Interstitial Fluid Surrounds all cells that are not in the blood
