Eyelids Thin skin that protects anterior surface of the eye
Conjunctiva Thin transparent membrane lining eyelids and outer surface of the cornea
Lacrimal apparatus Lacrimal gland, Lacrimal sac, Nasolacrimal duct
Lacrimal gland Produces tears, in outer upper eye
Lacrimal sac Part of the tear drainage system, inner eye
Nasolacrimal duct Recieves tears
Extrinsic muscles six muscles located on the outside of the eye responsible for the eye's movement
Sclera white of eye
Cornea Transparent layer forming front of the eye
Choroid Thin membrane containing melanin to absorb light coming in from sides of the eyes
Ciliary body Controls the thickness of the lens to aid in accommodation or changing the shape of the lens to help with distance and near vision
Iris Colored portion of the eye
Pupil Regulates the amount of light entering the eye
Lens Crystalline epithelial structure located behind the iris and pupil. Helps to focus light waves on the retina
Retina Thin, fragile layer of neurons which form the inner lining of the back wall of eyes. Receives light waves and converts the info to nerve impulses
Rods Assist vision in dim light, shape of objects and black and white vision
Cones Assist vision in bright light and have sensitivity to color. Sees through RBG cones.

Structures in Nervous Tunic Retina
Auricle Elastic cartilage covered with skin, directs sound waves to the eardrum (tympanic membrane)
