TermDefinition
plantation a large farm specializing in cash crops.
Indentured servant a person contracted to work for 5-7 years in return for their journey to the colonies.
slave a person who is taken against their will and forced to a lifetime of servitude
Town common the center of a New England village
Apprentice a person who learns a skill or trade from a professional in that area
Import goods brought in from other locations
Export goods that are sent to other locations to sell or trade
Agriculture the business of farming and/or raising livestock
colonists elected, to speak on behalf of the people, to make laws for the colony
a leader appointed by the King to enforce British rule in the ccolonies
an extra supply of goods
a person who buys and sells goods; a traveling trader
things found in nature that are beneficial to people
a territory settled by people from another country and controlled by that country
