Green book

ch 1 gb lesson 3-4

TermDefinition
Cell cycle The regular sequence of growth and division that cells undergo
Interphase The stage of the cells cycle that takes place before the cell division occurs
Replication the process by witch a cell makes a copy of the DNA in its nucleus
Mitoses the process that occurs in the formation of seed cells ( sperm and egg ) by witch the number of chromosomes is reduced by half
Chromosomes a doubled rod of condensed chromatin; contains DNA that carries genetic information
Cytokines the final stage of the cell cycle in witch the cell’s cytoplasm divides disturbing the organelles into each of the two cells
What takes place during the three stages of the cells cycle The dNA gets copied, There DNA separates, they pair up, then the new bases are connected, tow DNA monocles are formed
Draw and label the cell cycle See notes
Explain DNA replication and how it accounts for the way it copies the cell When it unwinds and separates And nitrogen helps it rejoin with a new bases are pair
Selectively permeable A property of a cell membrane that allows some substances to pass through while others can’t
Passive transport The moment of materials through s cell membrane without using energy
diffusion The prosses by witch monocles move from an area of the higher concentration to an area of lower concentration
Osmosis The diffusion of water monocles through a selectively preamble membrane
active transport The movement of materials through a cell membrane using cellular energy
Explain how materials move in and out of cells By diffusion
Know the different types of membrane transport active transport, passive transport and diffusion
Explain the difference between facilitated diffusion and diffusion Diffusion is when small molecules move across the cell membrane and facilitated diffusion is when Adding water filcleited material bring defect in gather cell

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.

To see how well you know the information, try the Quiz or Test activity.
