Oceanic water cycle
terms specific to to the ocean
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Surface Current | A strong flow of water near the top of the ocean. Wind usually makes the water move. |
| Tide | When ocean water goes up and down. The Moon and the Sun pull the water with their gravity. This pulling makes the sea rise and fall. |
| Wave | A moving hump of water. Wind blows on the ocean and makes the water move. The water rides along like a bump that travels across the sea. |
| Wave Height | The top of the wave to the bottom of the wave is how tall the wave is. |
| Wavelength | The space from one wave top to the next wave top. |
