Mitosis or Meiosis

TermDefinition
Mitosis Makes body cells (ex: Blood cells, skin cells, nerve cells, etc.).
Meiosis Makes gametes/sex cells (ex: Sperm and Egg)
Meiosis Two cell divisions.
Mitosis One cell division.
Meiosis Daughter cells are haploid (23 chromosomes). They have half the chromosomes of the parent cell.
Mitosis Daughter cells are diploid (46 chromosomes). They have the same amount of chromosomes as the parent cell.
Mitosis Daughter cells are genetically identical to the parent cell.
Meiosis Daughter cells are genetically different from (similar to) the parent cell.
