| slave | a person who was taken against their will and forced to a life time of servitude |
| town common | the center of a New England village |
| Apprentice | a person who learns a skill or trade from a professional |
| Import | goods brought in from other locations |
| Agriculture | the business of farming and/ or raising live stock |
| Colonial Assemblies | colonist elected, to speak on behalf of the people, to make laws for the colonies |
| Royal Governor | a leader appointed by the king to enforce British rule in the colonies |
| Surplus | an extra supply of goods |
| Merchant | a person who buys and sells goods a traveling trader |
| Natural Resources | things found in nature that are beneficial to people, |
| colony | a territory settled by people from another country and controlled by that country. |
