13 Colonies
| Term | Definition |

| Plantation | A large farm specializing in cash crops |
| Indentured Servant | A person who contracted to work for 5-7 years in return for their journey to the colonies |
| Slave | A person who is taken against their will and forced to a lifetime of servitude |
| Town Common | The center of a New England village |
| Apprentice | A person who learns a skill or trade from a professional in that area |
| Import | Goods brought from other locations |
| Agriculture | The business of farming and/or raising livestock |
| Colonial Assemblies | Colonists elected, to speak on behalf of the people, to make laws for the colony |
| Royal Governor | A leader appointed by the king to in force British rule in the colonies |
| Surplus | An extra supply of goods |
| Merchant | A person who buys and sells goods |
| Natural Resources | Things found in nature that are beneficial to people |
| Colony | A territory settled by people from another country and controlled by that country |
