Cerebrum The largest part of the brain on the top controls speech thought reading and writing.
Cerebellum bottom back part of the brain, balance posture voluntary and involuntary movements.
Brain stem lowest part of the brain right by the neck. controls breathing heart rate seeing hearing walking talking eating.
Pons top of the brainstem connects the cerebrum and cerebellum.
Medulla oblongata lower part of the brain stem that connects the brain to the spinal cord. swallowing coughing sneezing.
Parietal lobe top middle part of the head touch pain temperature and pressure.
Occipital lobe back lower part of the brain visual processing
Frontal lobe in the front and helps us with decision making problem solving impulse control.
Temporal lobe bottom side part of brain emotion, language processing memory function.
Motor cortex back part of the frontal lobe planning and motor skills
Sensory cortex right behind the motor cortex sensory input touch sight sound taste.
Corpus callosum in the middle main communication. language attention, and motor skills.
Pituitary gland Little ball in the middle controls growth and functions of other glands.
Thalamus circle right in the middle of the brain. pain perception and sensory information
Hypothalamus right above the pituitary gland controls body temperature thirst, hunger and sleep.
Hippocampus goes around the middle part of the brain emotion memory and autonomic nervous system.
