Interaction of Living Things
| Term | Definition |

| Abiotic | A nonliving part of an ecosystem (air, light, soil, temperature, water, rocks, etc) |
| Biotic | A living thing in an ecosystem (plants, animals, fungi and bacteria, etc.) |
| Habitat | A place where organisms live - provides food, water, shelter and space |
| Predator | An animal that hunts other animals for food |
| Prey | Animals that are eaten by other animals. |
| Invasive species | An organism that is introduced to a new ecosystem and causes harm |
| Population | The number of organisms of the same species that live in a particular geographic area. |
| Community | All of the populations in a given area that interact together |
| Organism | One living thing, an individual |
