| Cerebellum | coordinates balance, posture, and smooth movements |
| Brain Stem | controls basic life functions |
| Pons | part of brain stem, regulates breathing and signals |
| Medulla Oblongata | controls vital automatic functions |
| Parietal Lobe | processes touch, temperature, pain, and any physical feelings |
| Occipital Lobe | main center for visual processing |
| Frontal Lobe | handles personality, decision making, planning |
| Temporal Lobe | handles hearing, memory, language understanding |
| Motor Cortex | controls voluntary muscle movements |
| Sensory Cortex | receives and interprets information from body's senses |
| Corpus Callosum | bundle of nerve fibers connecting the brain's two hempispheres |
| Pituitary Gland | "master gland", releases hormones |
| Thalamus | relay station that directs sensory information to other brain areas |
| Hypothalamus | regulates hunger, thirst, temperature, hormones, homeostasis |
| Hippocampus | part for forming and storing long term memories and information |
