Reactive Attachment Disorder Inhibited, emotionally withdrawn, unresponsive to caregiver efforts to offer comfort in distress.
Disinhibited Social Engagement disorder No fear of strangers, seemingly unfazed by separation from caregiver
What happens with attachment disorders if they are not treated Can last a lifetime causing lack o trust, and insecurity in friendships and partnership
Somatization Expression of stress through physical symptoms
Primary gain Avoidance of undesirable/anxiety provoking situations
Secondary Somatic symptoms might prompt attention from wanted sources
Tertiary Sick results in cohesiveness in otherwise dysfunctional family unit
Malingering Conscious fabrication of illness for secondary gain, such as insurance fraud, meds, or prison.
Factitious Just wants to assume a sick role
Biological risk factor for somatic sx disorder Trait of negative affectivity(neuroticism_
Conversion disorder Neurological sx in absence of neurological diagnosis. Such as paralysis, blindness, loss of senses. Pts are usually indifferent about them.
Illness anxiety disorder High health anxiety for at least 6 months.
