Galapagos Islands located in the Pacific Ocean
Different species of tortoises and finches
Natural Selection organisms with traits best suited to their environment are more likely to survive
4 Factors govern Natural Selection

2. variations are found among individuals of a species
3. Some variations enable members of a population to service and reproduce better than others
4. over time, offspring of individuals with helpful variations make up more of a population
Variation the appearance of an individual of an inherited trait that makes an individual different from other members of the same species
Variation 1 found among individuals of the same species
Variation 2 important among population
Variation 3 if enough variations occur in a population as it produces new offspring then a new species may evolve
Adaptation Any variation that makes an organism better suited to it's environment
Adaptation types Structural, Functional, Behavior
Camouflage protective adaptation that lets an organism blend into it's environment
