| How did nationalism cause WWI? | -Nationalism was very strong in both Germany and France. Serbian nationalists looked to Russia to protect them from Austria-Hungary. Serbians were Slavic and Russia was the protector of all Slavic nations. |
| How did imperialism cause WWI? | Nations competed for more land, colonies and raw materials. Great Britain and Germany competed industrially, which led to these nations needing more raw materials. |
| How did militarism cause war? | With militarism, countries were building up their militaries. This is very threatening to other countries. |
| Why were new countries created with the Treaty of Versailles? | Many different ethnic groups wanted their own countries. Like Polish people living in germany and Russia wanted their own country- Poland was created. |
