Phenylephrine אגוניסט אדרנרגי אלפא-אחת מפעיל רצפטורי אלפא-אחת וגורם לכיווץ כלי דם, עלייה בלחץ הדם והפחתת גודש באף.
Clonidine אגוניסט אדרנרגי אלפא-שתיים מרכזי מוריד פעילות סימפטטית מרכזית ומוריד לחץ דם משמש גם בגמילה מאופיואידים ובטיפול ב־ADHD.
(Alpha) methyl dopa אגוניסט אדרנרגי אלפא-שתיים מרכזי מוריד לחץ דם דרך הפעלה מרכזית של רצפטורי אלפא-שתיים ומשמש בעיקר ביתר לחץ דם בהריון.
