Power over Ethernet

POE Power over Ethernet -- provides electrical power form power sourcing equipment (PoE)
PD Power Device-- over Ethernet cables that carry both the electrical power and transmitted data.
IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers -- primarily to control how much power is supplied to different typs of PDs.
803.3af type 1, a power source of 44-57 volts and maximum power 15.4 voice over the internet VoIP and Wi-Fi APs
803.at ` type 2, supplies a range of 40-57 volts. PSE can supply up to 30 watts power. support LCD displays, biometric sensor and tables
803.bt type3 and type 4, increase the maximum PoE power
Type 3 carries up to 60 watts, port with a minimum power of 51 watts on a single Rj-45 cable.
Type 4 higher power -- supplies maximum power 100 watts on each port PSE and ensures minimum of 71 watts.
PoE injector known as midspan-- plugged into a standard Ethernet cable from a switch and a source of AC power. adds the power to the Ethernet cable running form the injector to the Poe device.
PoE switch It supplies power to PoE devices but does not supply power to standard Ethernet devices.
Hub resembles a switch, takes a signal form one port an blindly broadcasts it out the other.
