What do secondary sensory neurons do? Conduct impulses from the cord or brainstem to the thalamus.
How many pairs or nerves are connected to the spinal cord and cranium 31 pairs of spinal nerves. 12 pairs of cranial nerves
What are the two divisions of peripheral nervous system. Afferent (sensory) division and Efferent (motor) division.
What are the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system. Sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
What receptor is responsible for pain? Nociceptor are free nerve endings found in skin pick of pain sensations.
What is the purpose of sensory receptrors the help the body respond to stimuli caused by changes occurring in our internal or external environment.
What is proprioception? This is the muscle sense that tells each moment the level of contraction and stretch of our skeletal muscles.
What are the principles of hormone action. They target cells and bind to them, signal transduction and can combine hormone actions through synergism, permissiveness, and antagonism.
What is the purpose of the SA node The SA node is considered the pacemaker of the heart. It initiates each heartbeat and sets its pace. Specialized cells in the node uses an intrinsic rhythm.
What are the the four regions of the brain Brainstem (medulla, oblongata, pons, midbrain), Cerebellum, Diencephalon, Cerebrum
