QuestionAnswer
What is ignited when your body experiences outside foreign antigens? It initiates your immune system.
Why is it so important for your immune system to be able to fight off infections? Pathogens would overrun your immune system and lead to more severe illnesses.
Does nonspecific immunity or adaptive immunity only target specific harmful particles? Adaptive immunity.
Why is nonspecific immunity able to defend the whole body without any restrictions? Nonspecific immunity provides a general defense against all particles that aren't itself.
Which reaction is faster, innate or adaptive immunity? Innate immunity because it can have an immediate reaction.
Does innate immunity have memory of the pathogens? No
Does adaptive immunity have memory of the pathogens? Yes
Why does inflammation occur when you are sick? Inflammation isolates the pathogens and stimulates the immune system cells to come to the targeted site.
Why do people get fevers sometimes when they are sick? To create a hostile environment for pathogens and slow down the reproduction of the microbe.
Which line of defense contains mechanical and chemical barriers? First line of defense.
