| Coarse Grain | Mineral crystals large enough to be seen with your eye. |
| Felsic | Igneous rocks and magmas that are rich in silca, aluminum, and potassium, (lighter in color) |
| Mafic | Rich in magnesium and iron (dark colored). |
| Vesicular | Volcanic rocks full of holes which are trapped gas bubbles from magma that expanded and solidified as lava cooled rapidly at the Earth’s surface. |
| Glassy Rock texture | A rock that looks like glass because of extremely rapid cooling, (prevents crystals from forming). |
