Natural selection variations in a population increase some individuals likelihood of surviving and reproducing in a changing environment.
Speciation separated populations that remain separated can evolve through mutations to become new species.
Homologous structures Same structure and different function (evidence of a common ancestor).
Analogous Structures Different structure and same function.
Embryological structure Embryos of different structures to see if a common ancestor is shared.
Vestigial structures Structures that have no functions but believed to have a function a long time ago.
