Female Reproductive

QuestionAnswer
Ovary A pair of female gonads located on each side of the uterus that produce eggs (ova) and secrete hormones such as estrogen and progesterone.
Fallopian Tube (Uterine Tube) A narrow tube that connects the ovary to the uterus; it is the site where fertilization of the egg by sperm typically occurs.
Endometrium The inner lining of the uterus that thickens during the menstrual cycle and sheds during menstruation if pregnancy does not occur.
Cervix The lower, narrow part of the uterus that opens into the vagina; it acts as a passageway for menstrual flow, sperm, and childbirth.
Vagina A muscular canal extending from the cervix to the outside of the body; serves as the birth canal and the passage for menstrual flow.
