thoracic cavity located in the chest and contains the heart, lungs and major blood vessels
abdominal cavity located in the abdomen and contains the stomach, intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen
pelvic cavity located in the lower abdomen and contains the urinary bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs
epigastric located just below the sternum (breastbone)
right and left hypochondriac located below the ribs on either side
umbilical located around umbilicus
right and left lumbar region extend anterior to posterior on either side of the umbilical region
hypogastric located over the pubic region
right and left iliac (hip bone) located on either side of the hypogastric region
RUQ liver and gallbladder
RLQ appendix and certain reproductive organs
LUQ pancreas, stomach and spleen
LLQ certain reproductive organs, such as the left fallopian tube and left ovary
