| cells EX: | epithelial, nerve, muscle, bone, blood |
| epitheal | covers internal and external organs |
| connective | holds parts of the body in place |
| nervous | transmits impulses throughout the body to activate, coordinate, and control many functions |
| muscular | contracts and relaxes to cause or allow movement |
| skeletal | attached to bone and enables movement of skeleton |
| smooth(visceral) | found in the walls of the hollow internal organs of the body |
| carduac | makes up the muscular wall of the heart |

| epigastric | located just below the sternum (breastbone) |

| right and left lumbar region | extend anterior to posterior on either side of the umbilical region |
| hypogastric | located over the pubic region |
| right and left iliac (hip bone) | located on either side of the hypogastric region |
