What are the primary functions of axial muscles? Axial muscles support and move the head, neck, truck, and maintain posture and assist in respiration.
Name two major groups of axial muscles: Sternocleidomastoid and rectus abdominos
What are the two main divisions of the nervous system? Central nervous system and peripheral nervous system
What structure make up the CNS? The brain and spinal cord
What is the primary function of the autonomic nervous system? Regulates involuntary activities like heart rate, digestion, and grandular secreation.
What are the main components of blood? Plasma, RBC, WBC and platelets
What is the functions of heart valves? They prevent back flow of blood and make sure its a one way circulation
What is the primary function of the respiratory tract? Gas exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide removal
How do endocrine glands differ from exocrine glands? Endocrine glands secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream; exocrine glands release substances through ducts.
Name the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system. Sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions.
