| How do neurotransmitters work? | They are chemical messengers released by neurons that bind to receptors on target cells. |
| What is the main function of the circulatory system? | To pump blood that carries oxygen and nutrients to tissues and removes waste. |
| What does the lymphatic system do with excess fluid? | It drains extra interstitial fluid and returns it to the bloodstream |
| What is the primary function of the digestive system? | To bring nutrients into the body so cells can use them for energy and growth |
