What is the main job of the central nervous system (CNS)? The CNS processes information and makes decisions about how the body should respond.
The part of the nervous system that controls automatic body functions like heartbeat, breathing rate, and digestion. Autonomic Nervous System (ANS)
What do hormones do in the body? Hormones act as chemical messengers that travel through the blood and help control things like growth, metabolism, stress, and reproduction.
Sensory receptors that detect changes in chemicals such as oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. Chemoreceptors
What is the main function of the heart? The heart pumps blood throughout the body so tissues receive oxygen and nutrients and wastes can be removed.
A clear fluid that carries immune cells and helps remove waste and excess fluid from tissues. Lymph
How does inflammation help the immune system? It brings more blood, oxygen, and immune cells to an injured or infected area so the body can fight off harmful substances.

What is the main function of the small intestine? The small intestine absorbs most of the nutrients from the food we eat after it’s broken down.

Why does the respiratory system need the circulatory system? Because the lungs bring in oxygen, but the blood must carry that oxygen to the rest of the body.

What does the PNS do? The peripheral nervous system carries signals between the brain/spinal cord and the rest of the body.
