What shunts are in a fetus heart? Foramen ovale, ductus arteriosus, and ductus venosus
What is lymph? Leftover blood plasma
What is the lymphatic system? Group of organs, vessels, and tissues that protect body from infection and help maintain healthy fluids in the body
What are the four chamber of the heart? Left & right atrias, left & right ventricles
How does lymph flow through the body? With the help from valves in the vessels, smooth muscle contracting, and skeletal muscles moving
What is the order of inspiration? Inhale through mouth or nose > pharynx > larynx > trachea > bronchis > lungs > bronchi > secondary bronchis > tertiary bronchi > bronchioles > alveolar sacs
What are the divisions of the autonomic nervous system and their functions? Parasympathetic NS "rest and repair" Sympathetic NS "fight or flight"
What is the central nervous system? Center of entire nervous system, contains the brain and spinal cord, receives, evaluates, and responds to info
What are some ways to help the parasympathetic system? Stimulating the vagus nerve, massaging eyes and neck, mindful thinking
Which gland secretes melatonin? Pineal gland
