TermDefinition
Expression A meaningful string of numbers and operation symbols
Represent To show something in some way
Whole Number A numerical value with no decimal or fractional part
Categories Groups that you can sort objects into
Decimal A fraction with a denominator that is a multiple of 10 and is written with digits to the right of the decimal point
Fraction A number that shows a part of a whole or part of a set
Scale (on a graph) What the graph is counting by on each axis
Frequency How many times something happens
Plot To put points on a graph based on their x- and y- values
Table A chart containing data that is displayed in columns and rows
Data Numbers, words, observations, or measurements that are collected and recorded
Dot Plot A type of graph using dots to show how many times each data point happens
Frequency Table A record of how many times a value in a data set occurs
Scaled Intervals What the graph is counting by
Stem- and Leaf Plot A way to separate data by place value
