Amine Any of a class of basic organic compounds derived from ammonia by replacement of hydrogen with one or more monovalent hydrocarbon radicals.
Hyperpolarization To produce an increase in potential difference across (a biological membrane).
Brainstem The part of the brain composed of the midbrain, pons, and medulla oblongata and connecting the spinal cord with the forebrain and cerebrum.
Amygdaloid Nucleus The one of the four basal ganglia in each cerebral hemisphere that is part of the limbic system and consists of an almond-shaped mass of gray matter in the anterior extremity of the temporal lobe.
Brachial Plexus A network of nerves lying mostly in the armpit and supplying nerves to the chest, shoulder, and arm.
Dermatome The lateral wall of a somite from which the dermis is produced.
Cholinergic Liberating, activated by, or involving acetylcholine
Ganglion A small cystic tumor connected either with a joint membrane or tendon sheath.

Cornea The transparent part of the coat of the eyeball that covers the iris and pupil and admits light to the interior.
