| What is a neuron? | A neuron is a nerve cell that sends and receives electrical signals. |
| What is a synapse? | A synapse is the small space where a neuron passes a message to another cell. |
| What is the central nervous system? | The CNS is the brain and spinal cord and it processes and controls information. |
| What is the peripheral nervous system? | The PNS includes all nerves outside the CNS and carries messages to and from the body. |
| What is a receptor? | A receptor is a cell that that detects a stimulus such as light, sound, touch, or chemicals. |
| What is a hormone? | A hormone is a chemical mass released into the blood to affect target cells. |
| What is the main job of the heart? | The heart pumps blood through the body. |
| What does a lymph node do? | A lymph node filters, limp fluid and helps find infection. |
| What are alveoli ? | Alveoli are tiny sacs where gas exchange happens such as oxygen goes in and carbon dioxide out. |
| What does the small intestine do? | The small intestine is where most nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream. |
