| Impact | V. To have a strong effect on something or someone It made a huge impact on my grades |
| Reference | V. To mention or bring attention to The reference were obvious |
| Alliteration | When the same sound appears at the beginning of the words in a sentence. Sally sells seashells at the sea store |
| Allusion | A figure of speech in which a writer makes a reference to something famous/well-known We couldnt find him, maybe he's Nemo |
| Hyperbole | Exaggeration to drive a point It was obviously a hyperbole |
| Imagery | N. Language that appeals to the reader to help imagine it They wrote amazing imagery |
| Metaphor | Compares 2 different things without using like or as |
| Onomatopoeia | A sound written in word form Boom! |
| Personification | To give human characteristics on inanimate objects, animals, or ideas |
| Simile | Compares 2 different things with using like or as Sophie is like a calculator |
| Credible | N. Reliable/trustworthy The source is credible |
| Relevant Evidence | N. Facts, Details, examples, etc. that support the writers reasoning I dont think that she used a lot of relevant evidence |

| Release | N/V. Let go or set free/act of letting go. Release the cows, they need more space |
