| Arrangement with repetition | r selections from a group of n choices and choices can be repeated |
| Permutation | a single group of items, no item can be selected more than once and the order of the arrangement matters |
| Equation for multiplication principle | M x N |
| Theoretical Method Equation | P(A) = number of ways A can occur divided by total number of possible outcomes |
| Relative Frequency Method Equation | P(A) = number of times A occurred divided by total number of observations |
| Probability of event not occurring equation | P (not A)= 1 - P(A) |
| And Probability Equation for Independent Events | P (A and B and etc) = P(A) x (P(P) x etc |
| And Probability Equation for Dependent Events | P (A and B and etc) = P(A) x P(B given A) x P(etc given prior) |
| Either/Or Probability Equation for Non-Overlapping Events | P (A or B or etc) = P(A) + P(B) + P(etc) |
| Either/Or Probability Equation for Overlapping Events | P (A or B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A and B) |
| Equation for the "at least one" rule | 1-P(not A) + 1- P(not A) to the nth power |
| Expected Value Equation | (value of event one x probability of event one) + (value of event one x probability of event two) + so on and so forth |
