How do weather and climate affect our lives

| anemometer | weather instrument that measures the speed of wind |
| rain gauge | weather instrument that measures the amount of precipitation |
| wind vane | weather instrument that measures the direction the wind is coming from |
| Meteorologist | a scientist who makes predictions on the weather (forecasts it) |
| tornado | a rotating column of air that develops out of a storm cloud |
| temperature | is the degree of heat or cold of an object or an environment |
| climate | Is the usual weather conditions in a place over a period of time. |
| tropical | zone is an extremely hot region near the equator |
| polar | zone is a very cold region near the poles. |
| arid | is an extremely dry area |
| temperate | zone is a region that has neither extremely hot nor extremely cold temperatures and mild weather. |
| weather | is the conditions outside now or a prediction of those conditions in the future time. |
| hurricane | forms over warm oceans and are therefore most likely to affect tropical coastal area |
| hazardous weather | severe weather hazards such as hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail, flooding, winds, winter weather, and more are dangerous weather phenomena that threaten life and property. |
| blizzard | is a severe snowstorm. It brings low temperatures, strong winds, and a lot of blowing snow. |
