What actually triggers the stomach to start releasing acid when you eat The hormone gastric stimulates acid secretion. There are different things that can cause the release of this acid, like the stretching of the stomach smelling food and even just looking at food.
Why does the small intestine have so many folds and villa? Why does it have all of that surface area? These folds and Villa are there for the absorption of nutrients
What makes the pancreas release its enzymes and what would happen if it didn’t Hormones secretion, and CCK trigger enzyme release if this didn’t happen, my absorption would happen
How does the body know when to move food from the stomach to the small intestine The pyloric sphincter response to stretching and the hormones, gas and secretion CCK and chyme consistency.
How does bile actually help with fat digestion and where does it go afterwards? Biile helps break down fat into smaller droplets, and the bile salts are reabsorbed into the allium and lastly recycled into the liver
Why does the large intestine absorb water so quickly? The epithelial cells are specialized for water and electrolyte absorption
What is the real difference between mechanical digestion and chemical digestion? Mechanical digestion is physically breaking food apart, like chewing and chemical is enzymes breaking down food and into molecules your body can absorb.
What causes the grumbling sound in our stomach? The migration motor complex is a muscular contraction that moves left over food through.
How does our body prevent food and stomach acid from going into the esophagus? Our lower esophagus sphincter closes tightly after swallowing to prevent acid reflux
why does the stomach have three layers of muscles? The extra oblique muscle layer helps our stomach mix and mechanically breakdown food, more powerful than other organs can.
