| Continents | A continent is one of earth's seven main landmasses |
| Oceans | The ocean is a huge body of saltwater that covers about 71 percent of the Earth’s surface |
| Mountains | A large landform that rises above the surrounding land in a limited area, usually in the form of a peak |
| Valley | A low area of land between hills or mountains |
| Island | A piece of land surrounded by water |
| Peninsula | A landform surrounded by water on its border while being connected to a mainland from which it extends |
| Isthmus | A narrow piece of land connecting two larger pieces of land across a body of water |
| Bay | A curved, inward body of water that directly connects to a larger body of water |
| Hill | A landform that extends above the surrounding land but is not as high as a mountain |
| River | A large natural stream of water flowing in a channel |
| Estuary | Area where fresh and saltwater mix...usually found where rivers meet the ocean or sea |
| Tributary | River or stream flowing into a larger river |
| Delta | A landform created by sand and rock that builds up where a river enters an ocean or sea |
| Lake | A large body of water surrounded by land |
| Strait | A narrow passage of water connecting two other large bodies of water |
| Plains | A large area of flat land with few trees |
| Plateau | An area of relatively level high ground |
| Cave | A natural hole in the ground, often extends deep underground |
| Glacier | A slowly moving mass of ice |
| Fjord | A long, narrow, deep inlet of the sea between high cliffs created by glacier movement |
| Waterfall | A landform where water flows over a drop in the course of a river |
| Rainforest | A woodland area with an annual rainfall of at least 100 inches |
| Archipelago | A group of islands |
| Gulf | A large inlet from the ocean with a narrower opening then a bay |
| Tundra | A vast, flat, treeless arctic area in which the soil is permanently frozen |
