Elements of Drama

| Character | The people or animals in a play |
| Dialogue | the words characters speak to each other |
| Script | the written text of a play with character lines and stage directions |
| Setting | where and when the action of the play hapens |
| Plot | the sequence of events in the play |
| Conflict | The problem or struggle that drives the story |
| Theme | the main idea or message of the play |
| Stage Directions | notes in the script that tells actors how to move, speak, or where to stand |
| Act | an act is a major section of the play |
| Scene | a smaller part that shows one event or setting |
| Props and costumes | props are objects actors use; costumes are clothes worn |
| Narrator/Stage Narration | a person whotells the part of the story directly to the audience |
| Audience | people who watch the play |
| Playwright | the person who wrote the play |
| Character Tag | The label before a line showing who speaks EX. SAM |
