What is a convergent muscle? A type of muscle that has a small origin and large attachment point. This type of muscle resembles a fan and an example of this would be the pectoralis major.
What is a spiral muscle? A type of muscle the twists around its origination point. An example is the lattisimus dorsi.
What type of salivary glands are found in the mouth? Parotid glands, Submandibular glands, and Sublingual glands
Are teeth considered an organ? Yes, teeth are the organs for chewing.
What is the role of Chief cells? To secrete the enzymes found in gastric juices.
What are the two layers of the serous pericardium? Parietal layer, which is found inside the fibrous pericardium. Visceral layer, which is the lining outside of the heart.
What separates the right and left atria? Interatrial Septum
What are the four electrical conductors of the heart? Sinoatrial node, Atrioventricular node, Atrioventricular Bundle (Bundle of His), Subendocardial branches (Purkinje Fibers)
How much lymph is produced daily from the liver and small intestines? 2800 to 3000 ml lymph daily.
What is an inflammatory response characterized by a raise in body temperature? Fever
