Deglutition Is the process of swallowing
Alveoli Help with the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide between the inhaled air and the bloodstream.
Artery carries blood away from the heart
Vein takes blood toward the heart
Capillary smaller vessels that takes blood between arteries and veins.
Hemoglobin Red blood cell that transports oxygen from lungs to the rest of the body and transports carbon dioxide back to the lungs. Also high in iron.
ABO blood type groups Type A—antigen A on RBCs Type B—antigen B on RBCs Type AB—both antigen A and antigen B on RBCs Type O—neither antigen A nor antigen B on RBCs
Lymph nodes Part of the lymphatic system- they help filter lymph and contain immune cells to fight off infection.
Phagocytosis Is the ingestion/destruction of microorganisms or other small particles.
Helper T cells An immune cell that helps coordinate the body's immune response. They stimulate other immune cells like B cells and killer T cells
