| Dalton's Law | Gas law that states that the total pressure exerted by a mixture of gases is the sum of the pressure of each individual gas; also called law of partial pressure |
| Cauda Equina | Lower end of spinal cord with its attached spinal nerve roots |
| Charles's Law | Gas law that states that volume is directly proportional to temperature when pressure is held constant; sometimes called Gay-Lussac |
| Henry's Law | Gas law that describes how the pressure of a gas relates to the concentration of that has in a liquid solution |
| Hearing-Breuer reflex | Stretch reflex to control respirations-especially rate and rhythmicity |
| Hyperpolarization | Increase in electrical charges separated by the cell membrane; causes change further below 0 mV |
| Catecholamine | Chemical category of Neurotransmitters that include norepinephrine, epinephrine, and dopamine |
| Branchial plexus | Nerve plexus located deep in the shoulder that innervates the lower part of the shoulder and entire arm |
